My first cartoon published in The Daily Universe.I was a freshly returned missionary, which is the exact wrong time to be a political cartoonist. My knowledge of current events was next to nothing. But, I did arrive in the United States just in time for the 2008 presidential primary elections.
I had actually heard of Senator Barack Obama years before, when he gave a speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. I didn't know a lot about him, but I did know he was the charismatic, "cool" president. He could be this generation's John F. Kennedy - the rock-star president for the 21st century.
